Baildon stabbed near Baildon Green Convenience Shop, Cliffe Lane


A MAN was stabbed near a local convenience store.

Police were called in to an incident near the Baildon Green Convenience Store, just off Cliffe Lane West, Baildon at 12:06 pm today.

A police spokesperson has revealed that a man, believed to be in his 20s, was stabbed and taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).

The man is still hospitalized for treatment, police added.

A witness spoke of a vehicle that stopped before leaving soon after the incident.

The area has been closed and the road is believed to be closed while investigations are ongoing.

Police revealed that no arrests had been made at this point.

The summit of nearby Denby Drive leading to The Crescent (next to the incident area) is also believed to be closed.

West Yorkshire’s first 626 bus service (serving Bradford, Shipley, Bingley and Baildon) is diverted via Green Road between Thompson Lane and Cliffe Avenue.

The service cannot serve Cliffe Lane West, Denby Drive or Bertram Drive.

Metro’s P64 Sandal Primary School service and its P66 Baildon CE Primary School service cannot serve Cliffe Lane West and Bertram Drive at this time.

Instead, buses will continue along the greenway.
