Tesco is one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains – with thousands of people cramming in to get their New Year’s treats after the Christmas rush.
With a number of public holidays throughout December, it can get a bit confusing when stores are open during New Years celebrations.
After people flock to stores over Christmas to buy duct tape or last minute stuffing, some still need to go shopping to go out in style for the New Year.

So what time does Tesco close on New Years Eve and what are the opening hours on New Years Day?
The majority of Tesco Extra stores appear to be closing tonight (December 31) at 7 p.m., with individual stores varying.
The larger stores on New Years Day, however, appear to be listed as closed – but not all as some open at reduced hours.
Tesco Express Convenience stores are listed to be open longer on New Years Eve, the majority if they close at 10 p.m.
For New Years Day, most Express stores appear to be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. but may vary.
There are a number of Tesco stores and supermarkets here in Buckinghamshire including Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Princes Risborough, Bourne End, Amersham, Chesham and other locations.
