The trendy convenience store Foxtrot opens its doors in the old town | ALXnow

Convenience store and café Foxtrot opens today (Thursday) in the old town.

The company announced in a statement that its first location in Virginia opened this morning at 701 King Street. The new Alexandria location is the hip convenience store‘s 18th location, with others in DC as well as Chicago and Dallas. There are a handful of events and specials planned throughout this weekend to celebrate.

  • The first 500 shoppers in the store today will receive a personalized tote bag with treats inside
  • Tomorrow (Friday), customers paying with the Foxtrot app can get 50% off select wines
  • On Saturday, customers paying with the Foxtrot app between noon and 2 p.m. can get $2 off any coffee or takeout item

According to an email from the store, the space has been revamped with a two-story storefront, with mezzanine seating and shopping areas and an elevated cafe. The release says the beer and wine selection will include Alexandria-based breweries like Port City.

“We are excited to continue our expansion into the DMV area with the opening of our Old Town Alexandria,” said Mike LaVitola, co-founder of Foxtrot, in the press release. “Alexandria is an active, vibrant and creative community that celebrates art, food and local support, which is what we are all about. Foxtrot. We can’t wait to join the neighborhood and invite even more locals to dine and shop with us.
